Create an Organisation

Click on the green “+” icon to create a new Organisation and add it to the Organisation Index.

Specify the Contact you are linking, as well as the Contact-Organisation relationship. You can opt to add a note, too. Click “Save” to add the Student-Contact link.nisation Information

Click the green pencil icon to edit a Organisation-Contact relationship, or remove (unlink) the relationship entirely (red).

This is where you can see all Enrolment fees, and invoices and orders associated with an Organisation.


Events Tab

Use the Events tab to create a note on the Organisation profile, or assign a task to a SELMA user.

Click the “+ Add Event” button to create notes on the Organisation page, or assign tasks to internal Users.

The Organisation Index displays a quick overview of a list of Organisations recorded in SELMA, and allows you to access select records.

The basic search feature allows you to find specific records quickly, and produces results that match your criteria the closest.

Advanced Search and Saved Searches

The Advanced Search is hidden by default, and can expand to reveal multiple fields where you can filter for specific Organisation details.

Choose your filters (blue), then click the buttons above the Advanced Search fields to apply your criteria to the Organisation Index (red), or clear your criteria from the search fields (green).


Saved Searches

If there are search criteria that you use often, you can save them as a “Saved Search” to access again, without manually typing up your search parameters.

Set-up your search criteria by filling out the Advanced Search fields, and click “Save Search”.

Name the new search you are saving, and click the purple “Create” button. You can also save the search results’ page length, sorting etc.


Access and Manage Saved Searches

Click the button “Saved Searches” to find and apply a Saved Search.

Click the drop-down arrow beside a Saved Search to rename and/or remove it.


Download Search Results

You can link any Organisation with an “Active” status to a Student.

On the Student profile, go to the “Stakeholders” tab.
You’ll see two groups: Related Contacts and Related Organisations.

Click the following “+Add” button under “Related Organisations”.

Fill out the required Organisation details, marked by red asterisks, and other necessary information.
NOTE: The Organisation field displays only “Active” Organisations.

The number of “Active” Organisations that is shown in the “Organisation” drop-down list is limitedType an Organisation name to search, and display matching Organisations. If the type you need doesn’t exist, jump to Add New Association Type.

When a new Organisation has been saved, you will see a purple star icon which indicates the Primary Organisation.


There are two ways to link a new Organisation to a Student:

  1. Create a new Organisation from the Organisation Index, then link them via the Student’s Stakeholders tab.
  2. Create a new Organisation from the Stakeholders tab, directly.

Enter basic Organisation information. When you click “Save”, the Organisation is automatically linked to the Student and will appear in the Organisation Index for editing later.

Add New Association Type

You can add unlimited Student Organisation Association types in SELMA.

Click the Settings icon in the navigation bar. From the expanded menu, select Lookup Data.

Find the heading “Student Organisation Association Type” and click to expand it. You can deselect a value to mark it as “Inactive”, or create a new value entirely clicking the blue “New” button.
Note: System default values cannot be edited.

When you choose to add a new value, you will see a pop-up form where you can add a simple code in the “Code” field, and add a name in the field “Label“. Click the “Active” check-box to ensure the data value shows up for use as a Student Organisation Association Type in SELMA.

While system default values can not be removed or edited, you can edit or delete Student Organisation Association Type which you have created.
NOTE: Do not delete any value currently in use by Organisation-Student links.
